Cask ale has a looong history, but it’s really still to arrive in SA. Go and find out what it’s all about and what I believe to be South Africa’s first ever cask ale festival.

Featuring cask beers from seven local breweries, plus Fuller’s (UK), the fest is taking place in the street outside the Spingbok Pub in Newlands. The pub is tucked away behind SAB Newlands, hence the fest name…

Tickets are R80 in advance, R100 at the door. The first 100 customers through the door will get a branded 500ml beer glass.
