I have a notebook full of beer reviews that I never got around to publishing last year. I have come to terms with the fact that I am never going to publish a full post on each beer, so decided on a round-up post of all of them. And in the interests of keeping your attention/getting them written at last, I have decided to deliver said beer reviews in the style of a haiku. Well, six haikus to be exact. Enjoy this dose of beer and culture…
Stellies Mass Hoppiness IPA (3.5/5)
Piney, dank, woody
Malt-forward, toffee, biscuit
Big mouthfeel. Boozy.
Freshly Lager (3/5)
Great passion fruit nose
Would like more malt character
Very quaffable
Jack Black Keller Pils (4/5)
Hazy, grainy, crisp
Biscuit, spice; brave bitterness
My go-to Jack Black
Little Wolf Saison (3/5)
Great intro to sours
Subtle brett tang, some sulphur
Not as dry as some
Anvil Mjolnir IPA (4/5)
Passion fruit and peach
So crisp and so clean. So wish
I had another
Devil’s Peak Juicy Lucy (3.5/5)
It’s cloudy as hell
Like drinking freshly-juiced hops
I want to drink more
Over to you. I challenge you to write a haiku of the latest/best/worst beer you’ve tasted so far this year in the comments section…
