Win a spot on a Cape Town beer/brewing course!

Are you a subscriber to my blog? Yes? Read on – this competition is just for you. No? Well then subscribe!! It’s quick, it’s free and I don’t spam you with daily crap. The widgetty thing for subscribing is right over there ———->

OK, so now that you’re all subscribed, how would you like to win a spot on a beer appreciation or brewing course in Cape Town? I am offering the winner a choice of a place on Know Your Beer, a six-week evening course looking at beer styles, with a focus on tasting, or Brewing Beyond the Basics, a three-day advanced level brewing course (NB, not targeted at those who have not brewed before).

Why am I offering this to subscribers only? It’s my way of thanking you for reading and sharing and commenting. If you want to share this post on social media to encourage your friends to the blog, awesome, but it’s not a requirement. You do have to do something to win though. And I think you’ll like it. I thought it was fun anyway…

What you have to do is head back to the homepage, check out the slider pic for the #12DaysofBeermas post and try and identify as many beers as you can from the pic. One point for the brewery, one for the beer. Some are unlabelled, some are turned around. The person who gets the most correct by 12.12pm on 12/12 (12th Dec), wins! Please post your answers in the comments section – I won’t approve them until noon tomorrow so people can’t copy and cheat!!

N.B. This prize doesn’t include any accommodation in or transport to Cape Town!!!

Merry Beermas,

Lucy

Are you in CT or Joburg? GBS do IBD accredited stuff in CT with enough people. The Brewster does IBD courses in Jo’burg I think.

I reckon I saw a Darling Rogue Pony. Jack Black lager. Possibly a Devils Peak vin de saison. Woodstock acid queen. Devils Peak kings blockhouse ipa. This is all speculation of course, but I’m thinking the Aegir Dissident belgian trippel and a Citizen of some sorts. A little difficult

      Haha, Awesome stuff!! Yay!!

Looks like the hour of detective work paid off.

      1. DP Juicy Lucy – Saw your Twitter post on this beer when it still had the hand written label on it.
      2. Dissident/Aegir Tripel – Way off on this one.
      3. Drifter/Zwakala Upside Down – Recognised this one from the League of Beers case this month
      4. Afro Caribbean RIS – We taste this on your beer course, so recognised it from there.
      5. Darling Bonecrusher – Recognised the Darling bottle, guessed the beer wrong though.
      6. Citizen Pale Ale – Colour of the crown cap got me here, didn’t even consider Citizen, because all the caps are black in the pics on their website.
      7. DP GRapefruit Express – Wild guess on based on 330ml craft bottle, but sadly I was wrong. In hindsight, The hat on the bottle was obviously because it had a logo on the crown, but that doesnt really narrow it down by much.
      8. Stellies Mass Hoppiness – Recognised the logo on the crown. Beer was a guess, but I know you like IPA and I tasted Mass Hoppiness recently, so I went with that.
      9. Afro Caribbean RIS
      10. Drifter/Zwakala Upside Down
      11. Citizen Pale Ale – Guessed wrong on this one
      12. Citizen Pale Ale – and this one. I must say though, I would never have guessed all 3 were pale ale, they all look different colours in the pic.
