It’s that time of year again. That awesome time of year, when the shops are full of Christmas goodies and the Hamilton’s Rugby Club in Green Point hosts a veritable homage to beer. The 2014 Cape Town Festival of Beer takes place from November 28th-30th and I have two tickets to give away to one lucky beer geek!
As usual, there are over 200 beers to look forward to, both local and imported. Here are a few things to look out for:
- Festival newbies including Red Bridge from Knysna, Just Brewing from Jo’burg and Savage Brew (formerly known as Bad Dog) from right here in Cape Town
- Surprise collaboration brews from Lakeside, The Craft Beer Project and Jack Black (not all in one glass)
- The launch of the controversial rooibos beer, Governor’s Red Lager, from Stellenbrau
- CBC’s newest brews on tap
- Woodstock’s first major launch
- Possibly Fransen Street’s beers available for the one and only time in Cape Town (not sure about this, just a hunch)
Oh, and there’ll be some food and music as well, or something…
So, how can you win TWO TICKETS to this awesomeness? It’s easy! All you have to do is tweet at me and tell me what you’re most looking forward to about the festival. Don’t forget to include @FestofBeer in your tweet as well as the usual hashtag: #CTFOB. That’s it! Winners will be announced on Monday morning. You get to choose which session you’d like to attend (either Friday or Sunday) and, as an added bonus, if you want to, we can meet up at the festival and chat beer, taste a few brews and do a bit of a beer walk ‘n’ talk. Totally optional that, but I’ll be there Friday and Sunday if you fancy some serious beer chat.
And for the rest of you, never fear. Tickets are still available from Webtickets.co.za (R150 for adults and R50 for children).
