Food Craft meets Craft Beer: eat.art at Devil’s Peak

Those of you who follow me a little will know that I’m something of a fan of Cape Town brewery Devil’s Peak. Those of you who follow the blog (or my Twitter account) a bit more intently might also know that I’m rather taken with the occasional dining experiences hosted by Kalk Bay-based foodies eat.art. I’m rather thrilled then, that the two are coming together for an evening later this month (July 2014).

Devil's Peak beerLet me tell you a little about eat.art’s Food Craft evenings. Basically, they’re like a foodie’s perfect last supper. Get a group of artisanal producers (could be winemakers, chocolatiers, bakers, bacon makers, tea enthusiasts, charcuterie buffs or – yeay – brewers) together, design a multi-course meal and get each producer to introduce their product, perhaps with a demo or a tutored tasting. Throw in a bunch of strangers sitting together, a few spot prizes an a fabulous goodie bag to take home and that’s pretty much a Food Craft evening in a nutshell.

This is their their event (read about last year’s inaugural event here) and it’s being held at the Devil’s Peak Tap Room on July 28th. As well as awesome beers and food from the tap room’s much lauded kitchen, there’ll be wine tasting from Mullineux, chocolate sampling from DV and plenty of treats from eat.art’s range. Add to that some live music, competitions and a New York diner vibe and I reckon it’s going to be a rather delightful evening.

Tickets (R245) are extremely limited, so book now or jealously watch my tweets on the night and weep into your microwave dinner ;).
