12 Days of Beermas 2015

It’s that time of year again – the time when the South African beer community gets together to give you a whopping TWELVE DAYS of beery giveaways. Forget partridges in pear trees, this year the 12 Days of Beermas brings you homebrew kits and brewery trips, books and beer and courses and some truly awesome prizes that I’m not going to tell you about just yet…

All you have to do is bookmark this page and check back daily to learn what the prize is and how to win. Most competitions take place on Facebook and/or Twitter, though a few will be right here on the blog…and one or two are for blog subscribers only, so fill in the form over here ——-> and make sure you don’t miss out!!

Day Twelve

It’s the final day of ‪#‎12DaysofBeermas‬! Two prizes left:

First up, a rather delightful experience – sponsored by one of South Africa’s oldest breweries, Nottingham Road Brewery, this prize includes:

– a night for two people at the lovely Rawdons Hotel & Estate, including breakfast (Ts & Cs apply)
– a brewery tour
– a tasting of Notties ales

Our final prize of what I hope you agree has been a rather spectacular 12 days comes from the team behind Beer Boot Camp. The day-long beer indaba is taking place for the second time in July 2016, with events in both Johannesburg and Cape Town. The lineup is pretty spectacular, featuring prominent beer folk from the UK, USA, Germany, Australia and South Africa. And one incredibly lucky attendee (plus a beer-loving buddy) will get the chance to sit down with the presenters to chat beer, taste beer and y’know, just BEER. You can enter this on Facebook or Twitter. All you need to do is tell us which presenter you’re most excited to see/meet and why. On Twitter, make sure you tag and  and don’t forget the #12DaysofBeermas. On Facebook, head to the Beer Boot Camp page and write your answer on their timeline (or wall – I still call it a wall). Day Eleven

There are three prizes on offer today. Head over to Facebook to win a beer t-shirt from brand new company BeerShirts.co.za. Day Ten

With just three days left, there are still some rather spectacular prizes up for grabs. Day ten is a double whammy of awesome for the keen brewer.

First up, the prize many of you have been waiting for…Devil’s Peak Brewing Co. has very kindly agreed to offer one lucky beer geek the chance to join JC and the team for a brew day on their shiny copper kettles, plus lunch and a beer at the tap room. This is a prize that money simply cannot buy – the chance to get insider tips from one of South Africa’s most respected breweries. You can play for this prize on Twitter or Facebook. This spectacular prize includes a full brewday with Copperlake’s brewer, Brendan, plus 30-litres of your beer put on tap for you and your friends to enjoy at their fabulous brewpub once the beer is ready. Day Nine

It’s Hump Day folks, so I have not one, not three, but FOUR prizes on offer today to help make it the happies, hoppiest Hump Day ever!

Until now, followers in KZN have been feeling a little left out (and thirsty) but today I have something for you as well! The lovely folk at Basset Breweries in Pennington have pledged a branded cooler bag filled with a selection of Basset Breweries beers, including W one of the few remaining bottles of The Dogfather 2015 vintage – a beer that made it into the top 10 at this year’s craft championships.
