Enter the 2022 Beer Label Design Awards

Entries to the 2022 Label Design Awards are now open, with categories for beer, wine and spirits. Originally started as a competition for wine labels, beer was added in 2018 in order to rewarding outstanding design in the local beer scene.

The awards are proudly sponsored by self-adhesive label supplier Rotolabel and are convened by Winemag.co.za. This year’s beer label judges are Christian Eedes, editor of Winemag.co.za, Sean Harrison, design & strategy at LUCO°, Kassie Naidoo, creative director at Lampost, Greg Gilowey of Beer Country and Troye May, host of the#Beertime podcast.

All South African beer, wine and spirit producers as well as design studios are invited to enter the competition. Beers will be judged in two categories: single labels and labels forming a series. Each entry must be accompanied by a 150-word creative rationale. The fee is R495 per entry.

For full info and to enter check out the call for entries on Winemag.co.za. Entries close 26 October. The finalists will be posted on Winemag.co.za from 14 to 24 November to give the public chance to vote in the People’s Choice Award. The winners will be announced 1 December.

Whose labels do you think should be entered in this year’s comp?
