Before anyone emails to tell me that I have misspelt ‘desert’, I have not. This beer – a chocolate caramel imperial mild – is best served as (or with if you’re one of those people that needs cake) dessert. It was inspired by The Eagles’ classic Hotel California, and there is but a single 20-litre keg to be served at the Woodstock Winter Beer Festival, taking place this Saturday (July 27) at the Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town. It is a beer so fine, it will literally blow your hair off. But y’know, not literally cause that would be weird.
