It was conceptualised as the perfect winter warmer – a 6% ABV stout with added chili and cacao nibs. The beer was to be called Hot Chocolate and the song that accompanied it was originally going to be You Sexy Thing. But Metal Lane brewer Murray Middleton was, oddly, not keen to go all Full Monty on brewday and at the last minute we changed the song to Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire. Let’s hope it doesn’t give you one when you sample it at the Woodstock Winter Beer Festival on July 27th. Tickets are selling fast, so don’t forget to get yours soon.
