It’s been a long-time coming but Hop ‘n Vine is finally making a comeback. For those that don’t remember (too much wine and beer perhaps). Hop ‘n Vine is a beer-food-wine pairing fest featuring local breweries, top wineries and garagistes plus plenty of Cape Town food stalls. Expect food pairing suggestions galore, but you’re encouraged to go out, taste everything and decide for yourself what goes well together.
As well as beer from 10 local breweries plus a handful of imports, wine from half a dozen Cape wineries, cider both local and imported and a range of sweet and savoury dishes, the Shoprite Checkers Boerewors championship is happening on Saturday. And as if that isn’t enough, wine wench Cathy Marston and I are bringing back the very popular Grape vs Grain – a beer/wine food pairing battle featuring three craft beers, three canapes and three wines from looong established winery Groot Constantia. Can’t say I’m not nervous about going up against their wines, but I have faith in the pairing power of the hop over the vine…
And wait – there’s still more. Two tickets to the fest could be yours – for FREE!! I’m giving away two tickets to the Friday evening session. All you have to do is tweet this sentence:
