I was pretty sad to miss out on the Woodstock Winter Beer Fest last year. Everyone I know who went raved about it. Beer was plentiful, tickets were cheap. The queues might have been a little long, but by all accounts everyone, brewers included, had a blast. Well luckily it’s back, albeit at a different time of year.
The Woodstock Autumn Beer Festival takes place this Sunday, May 1st, at The Palms Centre in Woodstock. It features a range of local craft brewers, including Riot, Drifter, Woodstock, Aegir Project, Stickman and Afro Caribbean. Riot have brewed a Russian Imperial Stout especially for the fest, while Aegir will be launching their latest seasonal beer at the event. A people’s choice competition will be running where you get to vote for the best autumnal brew of the day. And what’s more, Monday is a public holiday – what more reason do you need to attend?
The fun kicks off at 1pm and tickets are a mere R45 (inlcuding booking fee) online. But I can help you put that cash towards a couple of pints as I have two tickets for the fest up for grabs. To enter, all you have to do is complete the tweet as you wish (could be a real beer, could be your fantasy pint):
I’d love to fall into a pint of __________ at the Woodstock Autumn Beer Festival. Please can I win 2 tickets @LucyCorne! #WABF2016
